5 ways to jumpstart your positive mindset. Optimism is a key to success.
1.) Ditch the news.
Watching the news on a daily basis can create fear and anxiety. You want to learn about current events? Read or watch about the most important things you absolutely need to know later in the day.
Being able to be positive in any situation or circumstance is a great skill to have. But if you want to set yourself up to win for the day, stay away from all the media. They are there to distract you from where your heart desires.
If you start your day by watching the news, you will see all the horrible things that are happening around you. Everything you watched on the news will now be in the back of your mind. You will start to notice the things that could go wrong instead of things that could go right.
Empowering podcasts or motivational speeches in the morning can help you set the tone for your positive day. Hearing people talk about goals and ambitions can boost your mood and feel good about yourself.
If you want to start having a much more positive life stye, minimize the news and maximize the goals.
2.) Get new friends.
Have you ever looked at your circle of friends and thought, “Wow, they have been in the same place for more than 5, 10 or, 15 years”? You need to remember, “You are the product of your environment.” Whether it is your parents, your friends, and maybe even your spouse, they can have a huge impact on your success and outlook on life.
Do your friends support you on your business/career? Do they push you to be a better person? Are they holding you to your commitments? Do they hold you accountable with your goals?
There is something inside of you that wants to level up but somehow you stay stuck at your dead end job, you don’t know what your passion is, and your priorities aren’t straight.
Look at your friends then look at yourself. If they aren’t making moves, chances are, you aren’t either.
Surround yourself with people who you want to be more alike. Get yourself a mentor that can pave the way to where you want to be. Once you do that, you’ll be surprised how much you out grow your old friends.
3.) Get some exercise.
When we exercise, we excrete serotonin — the happy hormone. When we are in the state of happiness, it is like all of our fears, doubts, and anxieties go away. We start to appreciate all the good things that happen.
Exercise with a healthy diet can significantly increase your serotonin levels. Lack of serotonin can lead to depression, low self-esteem, and other health issues. Stay away from junk food like chips, burgers, and red meat. Excess low quality food can make you feel lethargic, tired, and moody.
30 minutes of quality exercise can increase your mood and make you more positive throughout the day.
4.) Be grateful.
Gratitude can be a tough habit to build. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try it. Next time you find yourself self-sabotaging, giving yourself a negative self talk, and criticizing yourself, stop and think of the 5 things you are most grateful for.
If you can’t find anything you are grateful for, start with something small like “you are grateful that you have hands to text with. a car to drive, legs to walk etc,
Start small and you will soon find yourself being grateful for more things than you realize.
5.) Get Uncomfortable and Trust Yourself.
If you set the intention of being a positive person by getting out of your comfort zone, you can get to where you want to be faster.
Think about it this way. Have you seen those movies where people get pushed in the deep end of the pool so they can learn how to swim? If the intention is to learn how to swim in a short amount of time, you just get out of your comfort zone and your survival instinct will kick in. If you are learning how to ride a bike and your dad finally lets go of it, you will start to pedal as fast as you can. You start to trust yourself, feel accomplished and can do anything with a positive mindset.
Once you are able to trust that you can achieve a positive mindset, it will start appearing in every other area of your life.
